SBPL Delivers a Community Success!

SBPL Delivers | COVID-19 Response

Days into the State mandated shelter in place the Santa Barbara Public Library transformed its service model to provide the Santa Barbara community with critical resources. As a part of this shift, the Library launched SBPL Delivers a book mailing program that brings books to your doorstep.

The Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation has stepped up to provide the funding needed to cover supplies and postage for the program. SBPL Delivers has received thousands of requests and distributed thousands of more books. Community members have shared,

“This service has been a lifesaver! My son loves the books you have selected. Trying to balance working from home and taking care of a toddler has been challenging, and we had read all of the books we have at home already. A fresh batch was much appreciated.”

“Thank you, SBPL for picking out books just for me from the grown-up section and kids’ section and helping make me smarter.”

“I got books today from SBPL Delivers like a gift from heaven. I am so excited! I finally have some new reading material. We are all in this together and having good reading materials really makes a difference, especially for book lovers.”

The Foundation is proud to support this critical program that is spreading joy, providing education, and serving as a lifesaving resource.
