As it is part of our mission and motto to open doors, it is our responsibility to remain open and transparent with the public and our donors on the progress of the Michael Towbes Library Plaza Construction. To do so, we’ve collected the most FAQs and have answered them here!

Why has the Library Plaza Project experienced delays, and what is the Foundation doing to help?

The Library Plaza has experienced delays due to City process, supply chain issues, out of town contractors, and weather impacts. Despite construction hurdles, we want to reassure the community that the Foundation and Library are diligently working to ensure the Library Plaza is built with the highest quality. Our commitment to delivering a safe and lasting space remains unwavering, and we appreciate the community’s patience as we work to not rush the final phases of construction.

Will delays in the Library Plaza Project require more private funding?

We understand that delays can be concerning, but we want to assure our donors that it will not require additional donor dollars. Every dollar contributed is being used judiciously.

What can we expect once it’s completed?

The wait will be well worth it, and the lasting impact on our community will be a testament to the collective effort that went into making the Library Plaza Project a reality. In 2024, we anticipate a vibrant and dynamic space that will serve as a hub for cultural and educational events.
