Turning the Page on a Remarkable Year

Turning the Page on a Remarkable Year

As the year comes to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on the many stories written within the walls of our public libraries—and the community that made them possible.

This year reminded us that libraries are far more than shelves of books. They are places of connection, curiosity, and belonging. From packed author talks and highly attended children’s and literacy programs to quiet moments of discovery at a reading table, our libraries continued to serve as welcoming spaces for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, members, and partners, the Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation was able to support programs that enriched lives across our community. Your contributions helped fund literacy initiatives, educational programming, cultural events, and access to resources that ensure our libraries remain free, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of our community.

We were especially inspired by the way our library spaces brought people together this year—sparking conversations, creativity, and lifelong learning. Whether attending an event, volunteering time, or simply checking out a book, each act of engagement strengthened the role of the library as a cornerstone of civic life.

As we look ahead to the new year, we are ready to face challenges with community and hope. With your continued support, we will expand opportunities for learning, deepen community connections, and champion equitable access to information and ideas for all. Thank you for being part of our story this year. We look forward to turning the page together in the year ahead.

Warmest wishes for a joyful holiday season and a bright new year.
