24 Jul Michael Towbes Library Plaza June Construction Updates
We are thrilled to share an exciting update with you regarding our ongoing efforts to enhance the Santa Barbara Public Library Plaza. The Lower Plaza named the Marjorie Reeds McNeely Courtyard, is nearing completion and will be the first space to be accessed by the public until the entire project is complete.
The Marjorie Reeds McNeely Courtyard will accommodate a wide range of activities, from educational workshops and book readings to cultural events and outdoor performances. The first program to kick-off use this summer is Lunch at the Library – feeding children and young adults every Monday – Friday, 12pm-1pm until August 16th.
Check out the Library’s Calendar to stay in the know on upcoming events in the lower plaza and the central library.
The entire Michael Towbes Library Plaza will be open to the public as soon as the Santa Barbara Public Library receives approval to remove all of the fencing, emphasizing the commitment to providing access to Library services.
The official grand opening of the Michael Towbes Library Plaza Opening Community Arts Celebration will commence on Sunday, November 3rd from 12pm-4pm. To learn more, click here!
